Cozomo de' Medici acquires first Beeple "Everydays in Motion" work
Michael Winkelmann - digital artist better known by his stage name Beeple - has just announced the first collection of his new series, "Everydays in Motion," from none other than art influencer Cozomo de' Medici, who curated an online collection described as "a signature work of the Digital Renaissance."
Acquired by the Medici Collection on September 17, Into the Light depicts a man walking through a futuristic landscape, encountering a beam of blue-green light, through which the subject passes without hesitation, reappearing on the other side in a grayscale grid.
Beeple made headlines in 2021 when Christie’s auctioned off his work “Everydays: The First 5,000 Days” for $69.3 million, with the digital artist creating images every day for an impressive 6,350 consecutive works.
The new “Everydays in Motion” series explores the everyday world of Beeple’s images more deeply through animation, and currently features 67 animated works, representing just 1% of the artist’s oeuvre.
Pixelmon participates in Token2049 by establishing MON Hub
Pixelmon, the monster collecting web3 game that raised $70 million in a 2022 crowdfunding campaign, made a splash on Token2049 this week with the launch of MON Hub, a free open house where visitors can play the game and kick off a night of socializing.
In addition to showcasing the Pixelmon intellectual property (IP), the MON Hub event invited attendees to try out related games such as mobile RPG Warden Ascent, rogue-like action-adventure game Warrior of Nova Thera (in which players take on the role of Pixelmon avatars), and multiplayer online battle arena Eternal League.
Azuki founder Chiru Labs acquires anime.com
Chiru Labs, the creators of the Azuki brand, recently shocked the internet by purchasing the anime.com domain name. The announcement states that the brand is offering "a new way to watch anime," ostensibly hinting at more products to come. For now, you can visit the new website and join the waitlist to collect the limited edition stickers.
CCP Games Launches New Space Survival Game EVE Frontier
Icelandic game developer CCP Games has just announced a new blockchain-based survival game. Called EVE Frontier, the game is set in a harsh hypothetical future filled with feral drones, and judging by the trailer, players can expect some visually stunning (if a little horrifying) graphics, interesting subplots, and strategic cooperation between players.

Claynosaurz expands into mobile with Gameloft partnership
Popular Solana NFT series Claynosaurz and French game publisher Gameloft have teamed up to bring their claymation-style prehistoric world to your mobile phone, with Web3 news outlet Decrypt describing the upcoming game as a choose-your-own-adventure experience with hints of Pokémon Go, though full details have yet to be announced.
Gameloft Chief Sales Officer Guilherme Lachaut wrote in a statement that the partnership marks an exciting time for the company, describing Claynosaurz as “a brand that has quickly built an engaged, passionate community,” acknowledging a shift in how traditional gaming IPs are built.
Coinbase Launches Wrapped Bitcoin Product
On September 12, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase launched Wrapped Bitcoin (cbBTC), an ERC-20 token backed 1:1 with Bitcoin held by Coinbase.
The development provides Bitcoin holders with a new way to interact with popular decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, with many popular DeFi applications (including decentralized exchanges, lending applications, and oracles) already launching live support for cbBTC.
MoviePass announces plans to integrate USDC
MoviePass, a subscription ticketing service for movie lovers, has partnered with the Sui Foundation to integrate stablecoin payments on the Sui blockchain. Previously, MoviePass offered an "all-you-can-watch" movie theater subscription plan for $9.99 per month.
However, the company has reportedly overhauled its model to a credit-based system that will soon offer purchases via Circle’s USDC stablecoin.
According to web3 media Decrypt, the Sui Foundation is an equity investor in MoviePass.
Dookey Dash: Unclogging launches on iOS and Android this Thursday
This Thursday, Bored Ape’s hit game Dookey Dash: Unclogged launched (no pun intended) on iOS and Android, and the BAYC team celebrated with a live download party at X Spaces at 2pm ET, with co-founder Greg Solano and Chief Product Officer Spencer Tucker in attendance.
Phantom launches new username feature
Phantom Wallet, the leading digital wallet compatible with the Solana blockchain, has introduced optional usernames to simplify users’ digital identities. The new feature is expected to improve usability and allow users to more easily send cryptocurrency to others using Phantom Wallet.
In addition to usernames, Phantom Wallet has added an easy swap feature, simplifying the process of bridging Ethereum (ETH) to over 30 tokens on Solana.
September 20th is International NFT Day
This Friday marks the second International NFT Day, commemorating the day when the ERC-721 non-fungible token standard was first developed.
Web3 enthusiasts celebrated International NFT Day for the first time in 2022 to commemorate the day when developer Dieter Shirley (part of the Dapper Labs team that created the early NFT game CryptoKitties) coined the term to describe the concept of indelible crypto tokens, with Shirley first publishing the ERC-721 token standard on September 20, 2017.
