[Major news] Is Satoshi Nakamoto back?
Recently, several Bitcoin wallets from the "Satoshi era" have suddenly become active, attracting great attention from the market. According to monitoring, a series of Bitcoin wallets that have been dormant for more than 15 years have "woke up" one after another, and large transfers have occurred.
Last week, a wallet that had been dormant for 15 years transferred Bitcoin worth up to $16 million to multiple accounts. On September 24, a Bitcoin miner in 2009 began to transfer Bitcoin to the Kraken exchange after nearly a decade of silence. So far, 10 Bitcoins have been transferred, with the latest being 5 Bitcoins, worth about $300,000. On the same day, a wallet holding 50 BTC (about $3.17 million) was activated after more than 13 years of silence. On September 23, another wallet holding 81 BTC (about $5.1895 million) was revived after 10.9 years of silence. On September 22, at 5:28 Beijing time, a wallet containing 50 BTC (worth more than $3 million) was activated after 14.2 years of dormancy. On September 20, it was even more astonishing that 5 miner wallets that had been silent for more than 15.5 years transferred a total of 250 BTC in one hour, with a total value of nearly 16 million US dollars.
These wallets all originated from the early days of Bitcoin, when the reward per block was as high as 50 BTC. With the successive actions of these dormant accounts, the market has speculated on the identity of the operator behind them. Some people believe that this may be the owner of the "old hard drive" that was lost and found; others joked that it might be a surprise after the "sleeping rich man" woke up. Regardless of the truth, this series of events has undoubtedly added more mystery to the Bitcoin market.
