Moscow police in Russia have shut down a “cross-border” cryptocurrency exchange that pretended to be a travel agency and was suspected of helping customers transfer funds abroad, ChainCatcher reported.

Police said the exchange processed about $2.2 million in cryptocurrency trades for Russian clients and charged a 1% commission. The Interior Ministry seized large amounts of cash, receipts and equipment during the raid.

Police have charged a "mastermind" and the case is still under investigation as they look for other accomplices.
