'Worst Airdrop in History': Hamster Kombat to Reach 131M Users Amid Token Allocation Criticism

Hamster Kombat Airdrop Set to Benefit 131 Million Users in Upcoming Token Generation Event

Hamster Kombat has disclosed more details about the distribution and the number of users selected to participate in the upcoming airdrop on September 26. The game, which reached 300 million users since March, has shared that its token generation event will benefit 131 million players, with 60% of its total market cap (60 billion HMSTER) being airdropped to users after season 1.

However, not all of these tokens will be available for users immediately, as this first distribution will include a vesting period of 10 months for 11.25% of the tokens delivered as season 1 rewards. In the same way, the project will distribute 15% of its total supply during its second season, reaching 75% of the token supply that will be delivered to users via airdrops.

While many users complained on social media about receiving the “Cheating is Bad” award due to implementing an anti-cheating strategy, less than 2% of the players (2.3 million) were banned from receiving their bounties.

Regardless, the community is now complaining about what many consider an unfair token allocation, which assigned more relevance to the referrals compared to other tasks. A user stated this was considered “one of the worst airdrops in crypto history.” Others blasted the project for awarding them the equivalent of a few dollars for six months of “work,” predicting a dire post-airdrop future for the game.

Previously, Hamster Kombat announced an increase in the total supply of HMSTR from 10 billion to 100 billion, which some feared would dilute the token’s value. The project is in an interlude phase that will benefit players towards season 2.
