On September 24, DeFi derivatives protocol Cega announced a new feature that allows users to manage investments more flexibly and respond to changing market conditions. Cega said that Vault Token Market (VTM) will increase the liquidity, practicality and flexibility of user investments. Cega allows users holding USDC to earn income without actively managing positions. Users deposit USDC in the vault, and the vault uses strategies around packaged alternative derivatives such as fixed income notes and put spreads to generate substantial returns. Vault participants receive Cega vault tokens representing their financial position in the strategy. Each vault's strategy runs for 27 days, starting at 1:00 UTC every Wednesday, simplifying the investment process. However, for issuers, this means that their USDC is locked in the vault for 27 days and cannot access funds. This liquidity barrier limits users' ability to respond to market changes and meet financial needs. VTM (Vault Token Market) solves this problem and allows users to exit early.
