A collector bought a pack of cryptocurrency-themed stickers for R$166 and ended up finding 1 bitcoin in one of them. At the current price, the cryptocurrency is valued at more than R$350,000.
The case was reported on Reddit just over a month ago, but it gained attention again this week after a post by GameStop, the store where the stickers were purchased, on social media.
“I got one,” Ooshnog said on Reddit, posting a photo of the sticker that works like a scratch-off ticket.
“Congratulations. You have found a cryptocurrency redemption card.”

What are these cryptocurrency stickers?
The sticker in question belongs to the “Currency Series 1 Trading Cards” collection, launched by Cardsmiths in 2022.
According to the company's page, the stickers feature several famous names linked to the industry, from the creators of Bitcoin and Ethereum, Satoshi Nakamoto and Vitalik Buterin, respectively, to Ada Lovelace, known as the “mother of computing” and honored by Cardano (ADA).
Other cards are simpler, featuring famous cryptocurrencies in varying degrees of rarity. The collection was designed by several artists.

Perhaps more interesting than that, 1 in 96 stickers contains prizes redeemable in cryptocurrency. Among them are rewards of 1 BTC, 1 ETH, 1 LTC, 5,000 DOGE and smaller fractions.
According to GameStop, a famous retailer focused on games, the lucky person who found 1 bitcoin bought the pack of cards in their store.

The community points out that there are only 5 stickers that contain 1 Bitcoin (R$ 352,000). “There is no way I am one of those five people,” commented Ooshnog, winner of the prize, upon learning of the low probability.
Although unavailable on Cardsmiths' website, the sticker pack can be found at GameStop for around R$166 (US$30). In other words, the collector turned R$166 into R$352,000.
There is no information on how many prizes of this value have already been redeemed. Therefore, it is possible that other collectors will be moved by the story and rush to buy the stickers.
In addition to this first collection, Cardsmiths has launched six others in honor of cryptocurrencies, where you can also find cash prizes.
Below you can see a video of another winner, who won 0.001 BTC (R$350), stating that “this seems to be the most common prize”.
