I don’t remember any cases when, after the already increased financial burden due to hacks, the exchange arranged additional drops.

Either they really want to demonstrate their reliability and availability of reserves, or everything is simpler: they “hacked themselves” - showed that they will not cheat and clients have nothing to fear, spent $5 million on marketing.
Of course, we will never know how it really happened. The main thing is that everything ended well for the exchange clients.
