According to ChainCatcher, the Polygon zkEVM testnet is about to usher in a major upgrade! A new sequencer named "Eggfruit" has been launched on the testnet today (September 20, 2024), and will be officially launched on the mainnet beta on September 30 after a 10-day lock-up period.

This upgrade not only improves performance and stability, but will also have a profound impact on developers and dApps. Chains built with Polygon CDK will also benefit from it. It is worth noting that the Eggfruit upgrade will be maintained for about two hours at 18:30 Beijing time on September 30, during which the Polygon zkEVM beta will be suspended.
