Validators play a crucial role in the day-to-day functioning of the CUDOS Network just like every proof of stake blockchain. Their primary responsibilities involve ensuring the network's security, maintaining its integrity, and ensuring its viability. This is achieved through tasks such as verifying blocks, conducting intricate security checks on potential transactions, participating in Governance votes by engaging with other stakeholders, and casting votes on various proposals.

The CUDOS Network's innovative design facilitates programmatic metering and high-performance computation. The success of these functionalities heavily relies on validators being consistently available, exceptionally fast, and maintaining their reputation as reliable participants over time. Currently, the total number of active validators sits on 36 validators.

In addition to their fundamental role, validators receive various rewards. Staking Rewards are designed to incentivize contributors, with a preference for those making longer-term commitments over shorter ones. Delegated Staking Rewards encourage individuals or entities to contribute crypto on behalf of others. Gas fees and transaction costs serve to market the superior attributes of validators. . The infrastructure of validators is paramount in providing secure and programmatic assurance to network stakeholders.
