At the Solana Breakpoint 2024 conference,
PayPal executives said that
Solana is better suited for payments than Ethereum,
and can handle thousands of transactions per second.
José Fernández, head of blockchain strategy and cryptocurrency at PayPal, claimed that
Ethereum is not the best solution for payments, which is why PayPal chose to issue stablecoins on the Solana network.
Fernández said that Solana has token expansion capabilities, lower transaction costs,
and can handle 1,000 transactions per second, which makes it extremely suitable for mainstream adoption.
