It’s finally here. Well, almost: After months of tapping on phone screens and investing in a fictional cryptocurrency exchange run by furry creatures, the launch and airdrop of the Hamster Kombat token will take place on September 26th.

At that point, Hamster Kombat’s developers will announce the end of this first season of the game before the airdrop, and use the remaining time before the token generation event to finalize the distribution and ensure all the pieces are in place — perhaps crossing their fingers that the open network can handle the influx of players trying to claim the tokens.

The team has already shared what factors will affect allocations, and we’ve been playing a lot of Hamster Kombat — so here’s a quick primer on how to make the most of this final pre-airdrop push.

Note: This is all based on the information Hamster Kombat has shared about the airdrop distribution factors. We don’t yet know how each category will affect the final balance, nor how many tokens players will receive based on their gameplay. Additionally, the developer’s plans may change - as we just saw with the Catizen airdrop.

Have a lot of in-game currency? There's good news and bad news. Let's start with the bad news: For months, the Hamster Kombat team has repeatedly stated that hourly profit is more important than in-game currency balance. If you've been hoarding in-game currency instead of investing in upgrades to increase your passive income, you have some work to do.

Luckily, you can now use those coins to buy late-game upgrades. But don't waste your money: some upgrades are more valuable than others, and they'll net you more bang for your buck in terms of offline earnings per hour. But even the most tempting upgrade cards have diminishing returns, and given the small window of opportunity here, you probably don't want to spend big bucks on an upgrade that'll take a few months of play to pay for itself.

Of course, there's a limit to what you can do at this point. If you haven't saved up a lot of coins, then you probably won't be able to make much progress. But buy whatever upgrades you can, and choose wisely. If you need to earn a lot of coins, then jump into the very fun Hexa Puzzle mini-game and start stacking.

There’s a limit to how many clicks any of us can tolerate in a given period of time, but Hamster Kombat offers a few other ways to rack up in-game currency via the Earn button at the bottom – and these apparently affect allocations according to the game’s Airdrop screen.

These tasks range from watching crypto educational YouTube videos posted to Hamster Kombat’s own account, following the game’s social media accounts, and claiming daily in-game rewards. These are relatively simple tasks that might be worth your time in the final hours.

If you've been playing Hamster Kombat for a while, you probably already know how aggressive the game is when it comes to inviting friends, including tying a ton of unlockable upgrade cards to missions. It's annoying, and we pointed this out back in the summer. For the most part, they're no longer a stigma about recommendations... though not entirely.

But if you still have friends who might want to check out the game — and you don’t mind pestering them with referral links — then give it a try. As the game points out, inviting friends who are active players factors into airdrop allocations.

You may have missed this, but a few weeks ago, Hamster Kombat introduced in-game achievements for various actions. It's a wide range, with achievements ranging from how many cards you've unlocked to the number of cards you've upgraded to a certain level to how many coins you've collected in total, and so on.

Mostly, these just highlight what you've accomplished in the game. But unlocked achievements are also a factor in airdrop distribution, so you can make a last-ditch effort to try and unlock some of them. For example, you can try to get more upgrade cards to level 15, watch more of their YouTube videos, and unlock an in-game skin for your hamster avatar.

Have you joined the Hamster Kombat Official Community Channel on Telegram? It's the largest channel on the platform with over 58 million members, and being part of the channel is a factor in getting rewards. There are even achievements based on how long you've been a member. If you haven't joined yet, join now.

Last but not least, keys can be earned by playing mini-games and co-op games, which may be one of the best remaining opportunities to get ahead in the airdrop.
