According to TechFlow, on September 19, The Block reported that the human identity verification project Worldcoin announced that it will test facial recognition technology in its World App. This new feature will ensure that only users who have verified their World ID on the Orb device can access the World App through a private 1:1 facial comparison.
Worldcoin said the introduction of this measure is intended to improve the security of user scenarios such as online shopping, financial transactions and secure login. Currently, the number of users of the World App digital wallet is close to 15 million worldwide, of which about 6.7 million users have officially verified their "human identity" through Worldcoin's iris scanning Orb device.
