Odaily Planet Daily News Blockdaemon's head of international business and vice president Andrew Vranjes revealed that Hong Kong regulators may approve the Ethereum spot ETF staking function this year. Vranjes said in an interview during the Token2049 conference in Singapore that the Blockdaemon team is working closely with Hong Kong spot crypto ETF issuers and discussing feasible staking solutions with local regulators. He added that regulators may approve the staking function "within a specific framework and boundaries" and hinted that a step-by-step implementation approach may be adopted, which may be opened to qualified investors first. "We are positive about this because the level of dialogue is high." Vranjes explained that the Blockdaemon team "had very in-depth exchanges" with its customers and regulators and "sent multiple pages of documents back and forth." Vranjes also said that he did not rule out the possibility of Hong Kong announcing the Ethereum ETF staking function before the United States. (The Block)
