According to TechFlow, Andrew Vranjes, head of international business and vice president of Blockdaemon, Hong Kong regulators may approve the highly anticipated spot Ethereum ETF staking function this year.
Vranjes told The Block during the Token2049 conference in Singapore that the Blockdaemon team is working closely with issuers of spot crypto ETFs in Hong Kong and discussing viable staking solutions with local regulators. He said regulators may approve staking functions "within specific structures and boundaries," and hinted that a phased approach may be adopted, possibly opening up to qualified investors first. Vranjes said that the possibility of Hong Kong announcing the staking function of the Ethereum ETF before the United States is not ruled out.
