Odaily Planet Daily News: Rune Christensen, founder of Sky (formerly MakerDAO), posted on X that the supply of USDS exceeded 200 million 18 hours after its launch. Its main use case is SKY token rewards. Earlier on August 27, it was reported that MakerDAO will be rebranded, the Maker protocol will be renamed Sky, and its decentralized stablecoin DAI will be renamed "USDS". In addition, the Maker protocol will introduce the native governance token Sky (SKY). MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen claimed that this rebranding is a step towards "the next evolution of DeFi". Like MakerDAO, Sky Protocol remains decentralized, community-managed, and non-custodial.
