According to Bloomberg, the Bank for International Settlements has joined forces with JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, UBS Group, Visa Inc. and Mastercard Inc. to launch a blockchain-based project called Agora, which was launched in May this year. The full list of private sector participants includes 41 companies, which will join seven central banks from the United States, the eurozone, Japan and the United Kingdom. The Bank for International Settlements is exploring the creation of an international platform through Agora, where tokenized assets can be bought and sold using digital currencies supported by the central banks of participating countries that issue the world's most important reserve currencies.
