Chromia (CHR), a layer-1 blockchain platform, has announced the launch of a $20 million ecosystem fund and provided an update on its 'Asgard' mainnet upgrade at the Token2049 conference in Singapore. Led by Chromia's Business Development Lead Yeou Jie, the fund will focus on supporting ecosystem data and artificial intelligence (AI) projects and applications. Alongside the fund launch, Chromia shared details of its upcoming 'Asgard' mainnet upgrade, scheduled for Q4 this year. As part of the upgrade, Chromia plans to introduce Extensions, a runtime environment optimized for new features such as oracle solutions, compute for AI models, data availability (DA), and zero-knowledge proofs. Applications for ecosystem fund grants are open from the time of the announcement, while the Asgard mainnet upgrade is expected to go live later this year.
