At the recommendation of U.S. prosecutors, former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison could receive a lenient sentence at her sentencing hearing on September 24.

In a document filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on September 17, prosecutors said Ellison provided “extraordinary cooperation” in the prosecution of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Ellison gave “credible and compelling” testimony against Bankman-Fried and openly admitted to her own serious wrongdoings in the collapse of FTX.
