Former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky has requested to call six witnesses who once worked at the crypto company to testify on his behalf as he could face more than 100 years in prison, Wu reported.
Mashinsky was arrested last year, with prosecutors alleging he defrauded customers and misled customers about Celsius' profitability.
In a memorandum filed by his lawyers on Friday, he asked a New York district court to allow these witnesses, including the crypto lending platform’s chief financial officer and chief revenue officer, to testify in his criminal trial. The lawyers said many of the proposed witnesses live outside the United States.
