The FBI reported a 45% increase in crypto-related fraud losses in 2023, according to its annual financial crimes report.
Last year, more than 69,000 complaints were filed by Americans, resulting in $5.6 billion in losses. Cryptocurrency accounts for 10% of all complaints and nearly half of total financial losses.
