[The SHIB team explains the importance of the upcoming Shibarium upgrade]

Lucie, head of marketing for the Shiba Inu team, recently revealed that Shibarium will be undergoing a hard fork upgrade called Cancun, its second major update this year. This upgrade is designed to improve the performance of Shibarium and its testnet Puppynet, making the system run smoother, faster, and more securely. She emphasized that this is very important for developers.

Shibarium’s official account also announced that the Puppynet Bor bone-beta + Cancun hard fork will be implemented at 8 a.m. UTC next Friday, and recommended that the community update nodes to ensure optimal performance.

This Cancun upgrade is expected to increase transaction speed, improve storage systems, and optimize user experience. As a testnet, Puppynet allows developers to simulate functions and avoid directly affecting the mainnet. This upgrade will also inherit the automatic SHIB destruction mechanism of the Bor hard fork launched this summer, with a current destruction rate of -5.09% and 10,560,253 SHIB locked since yesterday.
