Odaily Planet Daily News: Steven Goldfeder, co-founder of Arbitrum development company OffChain Labs, said, "I've never shared this publicly before, but in the early days of building Arbitrum, we almost accepted funding from another large ecosystem to build Arbitrum on that ecosystem (non-Ethereum). Steven added that we could have received a considerable amount of early funding, but it might have distracted us and affected our deployment plans for Ethereum. If we had accepted that funding, we would have had more in the bank in 2019, but I don't think Offchain or Arbitrum would be where it is today. It's not surprising that other ecosystems offer larger grants, because other ecosystems can provide much less other support than Ethereum, so the cost of deployment there is much greater, requiring larger grants to compensate.
