According to TechFlow, on September 13, Binance discovered a global malware that is seriously affecting cryptocurrency transactions. The software causes user fund losses by changing withdrawal addresses. This program, called Clipper malware, mainly targets cryptocurrency wallet addresses and replaces them with the attacker's address when users copy and paste the address.

On August 27, 2024, related activities increased significantly, causing affected users to suffer significant financial losses. The malware is primarily spread through unofficial apps and plugins, especially Android and web apps, but iOS users should also be wary.

The Binance security team is taking multiple measures to respond, including blacklisting suspicious addresses, notifying affected users, requiring reporting of incident details, and continuous monitoring. Binance recommends that users verify the authenticity of applications and plug-ins, carefully check withdrawal addresses, and keep up to date with the latest security announcements to prevent becoming victims.
