Caroline Ellison Requests Confidentiality for Supporters Ahead of Sentencing
Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research, has asked the Southern District of New York to remove the names and personal information of her supporters ahead of her sentencing on September 24, 2024. The request, filed by attorney Anjan Sahni, stems from concerns about potential harassment and doxxing. Ellison’s legal team argues that releasing such information could reveal sensitive details about her living situation and health.
Ellison, who pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges following the collapse of FTX, has largely kept out of the public eye since testifying against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Although she faces a maximum sentence of 110 years in prison, her cooperation in the case could result in a reduced sentence. Her upcoming sentencing will mark her as the third defendant in the FTX case to go to trial, following Ryan Salame’s 90-month sentence and Bankman-Fried’s 25-year sentence.
