Techub News reported that according to The Block, the financial technology company tZERO Group announced that it has obtained approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to become a special purpose broker-dealer for "digital asset securities custody", making it the second company in the United States to obtain this license.

Last year, digital asset company Prometheum also received similar approval from the U.S. SEC, and then obtained approval from FINRA to provide digital asset securities clearing and settlement services through its special purpose broker license.
