Merlin Chain, a layer-2 (L2) scaling solution, will partner with BitcoinOS, a Bitcoin rollup protocol, to launch the BitcoinOS Grail bridge. The partnership aims to increase the security and scalability of cross-chain transactions without decentralized trust mechanisms.
Merlin Chain founder Jeff Yin stated that this partnership will provide a “trustless, decentralized” bridge for users. The integration of the BitcoinOS Grail bridge will provide high security with zero-knowledge verification and allow for the seamless movement of assets between Merlin Chain and Bitcoin layer-1.
The main goal of the partnership is to write the zero-knowledge proof (ZKP)-powered secure bridge directly to the Bitcoin blockchain. This development eliminates the need for centralized security measures.
Yin stated that this partnership is “just the beginning” and that they are working towards a more secure and interoperable Bitcoin ecosystem. Future developments include expanding the capabilities of the Grail bridge and launching new decentralized applications.
