It is seeking to introduce more expensive subscription plans for upcoming large language models (such as Strawberry and Orion AI models), with monthly fees as high as $2,000.
Apple and Nvidia are reportedly interested in investing in OpenAI's upcoming round of financing, which could value the artificial intelligence company at more than $100 billion. Microsoft also participated in this round of financing and holds a 49% stake in OpenAI, having invested $13 billion since 2019. On August 29, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT's weekly active users have doubled in the past year to more than 200 million. Despite this growth, the company's revenue is still lower than expected, with annualized sales of about $3.4 billion through May 2024.
