Crypto industry supporters are planning to host at least eight fundraisers for Vice President Kamala Harris in the coming weeks, Bloomberg reports.

The events will take place in late September or early October in Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Supporters hope that these fundraisers will increase the crypto industry's influence in Harris' campaign and push her to adopt more crypto-friendly policies.

During the Biden administration, the Securities and Exchange Commission has taken multiple actions against various crypto companies, while legislation favorable to crypto businesses has stalled in Congress.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has pledged to support the crypto industry and fire Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Gary Gensler.
