Agreement between CNJ and ABCRIPTO may speed up the seizure of bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies in brokerages ×× in Brazil xx

The National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the Brazilian Cryptoeconomics Association (ABCRIPTO) have signed an agreement that may speed up the seizure of bitcoins and cryptocurrencies in brokerages in Brazil.

Announced this Tuesday (3), the CNJ Technical Cooperation Agreement No. 133/2024 will be valid for 5 years, or 60 months. The agreement may also be automatically extended for the same period, according to the law.

The signing of the agreement between the CNJ and ABCRIPTO occurred through the representation of Minister Luís Roberto Barroso and the Acting President, Bernardo Srur, representing each party respectively.

Published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Tuesday (3), the CNJ ACT No. 133/2024, the document was signed by Minister Luis Roberto Barroso on August 27, 2024.

Apparently, as of September 2024, all bitcoin brokers xx in Brazil xx must register with the Brazilian System for Interconnection of the Cryptocurrency, Cryptoasset and Digital Asset Markets of the Judiciary.
