According to ChainCatcher, NFT Plazas reported that the Roguelike card building game "Dimensionals" developed by Mino Games has officially transformed into a pure Web2 model.

Mino Games CEO Sash MacKinnon revealed that the company initially tried to enter Web3 in March 2023 by issuing free Genesis Stone series NFTs to increase game awareness and attract mainstream players. However, the project encountered malicious bots, DDoS attacks, and rapid changes in the NFT market, resulting in zero expected revenue. In addition, the community was disappointed with the decline in the value of NFTs and low user conversion rates.

Mino Games attempted a second NFT minting and closed alpha test, but the results were not good. After extensive discussions with investors and advisors, Mino Games decided to transition to Web2 to avoid further financial losses.

Earlier news, Mino Games completed US$15 million in financing to build Web3 games, led by Standard Crypto.
