OverProtocol successfully launched its Layer 1 blockchain mainnet on September 4. The project aims to create a user-friendly platform that allows anyone to easily participate in the new P2P financial system without professional knowledge. The core development team Superblock has raised $8 million, focusing on node optimization technology and is committed to building a comprehensive ecosystem to lower the participation threshold for ordinary users.

To celebrate this milestone, OverProtocol will partner with crypto industry leaders GSR and Jambo to host an event called “HangOver” on September 5. HangOver promises to be one of the most attractive side events at KBW 2024, South Korea’s top cryptocurrency event.

Before the mainnet was launched, OverProtocol conducted two testnet trials, attracting more than 700,000 users to participate in Palm Staking through the OverWallet application, realizing mobile client staking. In addition, more than 40,000 users ran the lightweight node client OverNode on their personal computers and became validators of the blockchain network through Home Staking.

After the mainnet is activated, OverProtocol's two key ecological applications, OverFlex and OverScape, will be updated at the end of September. OverFlex is a super application that combines OverWallet and the real-world asset (RWA) market, and is expected to be at the core of OverProtocol's vision. OverScape is OverNode's new brand, symbolizing the beginning of a new P2P Internet era that is integrated with finance, similar to how Netscape browser revolutionized personal Internet access.

In addition, a large-scale airdrop will be conducted after the update at the end of September. Ben (Jae-Yun) Kim, founder of OverProtocol, said that this airdrop will reward community members who have contributed to the ecosystem in the past year. After the airdrop, various community events will be held to create a blockchain environment that everyone can experience and enjoy in their daily lives.
