According to the August phishing report released by Scam Sniffer, about 9,145 victims lost approximately $63 million in cryptocurrency phishing scams.
Compared to July, the number of victims dropped 34%, but the amount of money stolen surged 215%, with one victim losing $55 million in a phishing scam targeting proxy ownership.
The report noted that the number of fake accounts on Platform X (formerly Twitter) has dropped significantly. ScamSniffer recommends optimizing the display of main phishing features and integrating its phishing domain and address blacklists to protect users.
