The Open Network (TON) blockchain has experienced another block production outage. The report of the outage comes less than 24 hours after TON resumed operations following more than six hours of downtime.

On Wednesday, the TON blockchain announced that the network overload had been resolved and the Telegram-affiliated blockchain was “back online.” However, the network stopped processing transactions, and the platform provided an update on the incident.

“Block production on TON is experiencing interruptions starting at 19:19 UTC,” TON wrote on X. “It appears to be due to heavy load related to the minting of DOGS tokens. TON Core is working on a solution.”

TON also attributed Tuesday’s outage to network congestion that occurred following the DOGS airdrop. Several major exchanges supported the airdrop, including Binance and Bybit, which delayed the distribution due to TON network issues.

The surge in activity also comes as Telegram CEO Pavel Durov faces multiple charges related to the messaging app. Durov was arrested in France late Saturday and held for 96 hours. Police released him from custody and he was brought before a judge on August 28 to discuss the case.

The events surrounding the TON network shutdown and Durov’s arrest sent the price of the Toncoin (TON) token plummeting.

After a brief recovery above $5.75, the TON token fell back below $5.50. Despite recovering some of its losses since Saturday, Toncoin is still down 18% over the past week.
