Japan's Web3 exhibition "WebX 2024" was launched on August 28. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who has always supported the development of the blockchain industry, specially recorded a video speech, and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Takeru Saito appeared on the stage to express his industrial views.
Fumio Kishida said that in the past year, not only large companies have actively carried out blockchain-related businesses, but the private sector has also shown active actions in these fields. He further emphasized that Web3 and blockchain technology are the basis for solving social problems.
In order to promote the development of new Web3 companies, the Japanese government has carried out a series of tax reforms and legal revisions to make the financing process of these companies smoother. At the same time, the government has also applied blockchain technology in cross-industry infrastructure and system integration platforms, showing a positive attitude towards the application of new technologies.
In the "2024 Kotai Policy (Kotai Policy 2024)", the government will actively promote the convenience of Web3-related token use and payment processes while focusing on user protection, and strive to create an environment conducive to the activity of the content industry. The formulation of these policy directions will lay a strong foundation for the development of Web3 and blockchain technology.
In addition, Fumio Kishida emphasized that this conference brought together key players in the field of Web3 and blockchain at home and abroad, and he looked forward to seeing WebX spawn various innovative projects and promote the birth of more solutions to social problems.

Japan has unique advantages in games, animation, comics, etc.
Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Takeru Saito said in response to the development of the blockchain industry that although the technology has achieved good development in the global financial field, Japan has unique advantages in cultural and economic fields such as games, animation, comics, and music, so it should actively explore Web3 The application of technology in these creative fields. In particular, NFTs based on blockchain technology allow small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals to directly connect to the global market.
Take sake or other high-quality Japanese products as an example. Although the price is not high in the local market, if it can enter the global market and target a specific high-end consumer group, its value will be greatly enhanced. Therefore, market positioning and branding are important key. Platforms based on blockchain or NFT commodities can allow Japanese companies and creators to easily reach the global market without being limited by price competition in the local market.
Saito Ken finally said that Japan has huge potential in the field of Web3 and blockchain, and the government will go all out to promote the progress and development of related industries.

Promote Japan to the global market
WebX founder Makoto Aoki shared that in 2022, the Digital Society Promotion Headquarters under the Liberal Democratic Party established the "Web3 Task Force" (formerly known as the NFT Policy Review Task Force) and recommended that the economic development ecology, including NFT, be included in the national strategy.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida issued a statement in London, emphasizing the importance of blockchain, NFT and the virtual world to society. By 2023, there have been many changes in policies. Japan can now issue stablecoins and companies can hold crypto assets.
The goal of WebX is to expand the Web3 industry and reach the next billion users, so many sponsors and speakers in the Web2 field have been invited to participate. Makoto Aoki emphasized: "We are holding a Web3 exhibition, not a cryptocurrency exhibition."
One of WebX's missions is to promote Japan to the global market and introduce international businesses to Japan, while breaking down barriers caused by language and cultural differences.
