According to Cointelegraph: The Telegram Open Network (TON) blockchain is back online after a temporary halt in block production caused by an unexpected surge in network activity linked to the airdrop of DOGS, a new TON-based meme coin. The TON Foundation confirmed restoring normal block production on their X page on August 28, 05:30 am UTC.

The outage lasted for several hours due to unusual network congestion that led to several validators losing consensus. The Foundation assured users that despite the disruption, no cryptocurrency assets would be lost, and all transactions would be processed.

To resolve the issue, TON Core issued a call for validators to restart at 4:00 am UTC, successfully reestablishing consensus and restoring the network's functionality.
