Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has been arrested by French police 🇫🇷 at an airport north of Paris.

According to officials, Pavel Durov was arrested on an arrest warrant related to Telegram-related violations.

It is still unclear exactly what happened, but the Russian embassy 🇷🇺 in France is taking "immediate measures" to clarify the situation.

Telegram was banned in Russia in 2018, after Pavel Durov refused to hand over user data to the Russian government, but the ban was lifted in 2021.
