PANews reported on August 24 that according to Cointelegraph, the Polygon community Discord was attacked today. Hackers pretended to be support staff and released fraud links. A community user @ValidatorK disclosed that he lost ETH worth $150,000 in this incident. The user accused Polygon of not officially releasing the Discord hacking issue on official channels such as X, and has not disclosed how to take responsibility so far. The timing of this incident is particularly worrying for Polygon, as Polygon is currently undergoing a major network upgrade to replace its token code.
