District Court Judge Analisa Torres denied the SEC's request to file an appeal against Ripple Labs.
In a court ruling dated Oct. 3, the judge denied the SEC's motion, saying the regulator failed to discharge its duty to prove that there were controlling questions of law or that there were substantial grounds for controversy in the case.
XRP rose 5% on this news, which is a good result as other coins continue to fall after strong gains earlier this week.
