The Hamster Kombat development team recently revealed that they received offers from some of the top venture capital (VC) firms in the cryptocurrency space but “rejected them all.”

The decision to decline venture capital funding was made to protect Hamster Kombat players and maintain the core focus of providing players with an experience that respects achievement, rewarding participants for actually playing the game.

This approach contrasts with many games and cryptocurrency projects that rely on venture capital funding, where some critics argue that venture capital firms may prioritize their own exit strategies over the long-term interests of the player base.

The Hamster Kombat development team did not disclose which venture capital firms have expressed interest in funding the Telegram-based game.

Hamster Kombat developers also explained that 60% of the upcoming HMSTR tokens will be reserved for players, while the remaining funds will be used for liquidity, future partnerships, in-game rewards, and ecosystem development.

Hamster Kombat developers have revealed the highly anticipated airdrop as “the largest airdrop in crypto history” as the game continues to attract users and show overwhelming success in Web3 gaming.

In July, the Hamster Kombat team announced that the game had surpassed 300 million players, following its initial success of attracting 239 million users in 81 days. The team and Telegram founder Pavel Durov have highlighted the game as a promising opportunity to introduce blockchain technology to a wider audience, potentially contributing to wider adoption.

Bybit exchange has listed HMSTR for pre-market trading on its OTC platform. The listing will allow users to purchase and hold HMSTR tokens before it is officially listed on traditional exchanges.

Bybit notes that OTC trading is likely to skew the token’s final listing price but also explains that other factors may play a role in shaping HMSTR’s spot trading price once the token officially launches.

The rapid success of Hamster Kombat has made the gaming community a target for bad actors and scammers advertising fake HMSTR airdrops.

Fake airdrops and sophisticated phishing attacks have even prompted the Hamster Kombat team to issue a Telegram announcement warning users to be wary of any individuals or groups claiming to be offering the token, which has yet to launch.
