BlockBeats reported on August 12 that Binance’s compliance director Tigran Gambaryan is still detained in Nigeria. His family representative said in an email statement that Tigran Gambaryan is being deprived of adequate contact with his legal team and his health is rapidly deteriorating.

Gambaryan was brought to a court in Abuja, Nigeria, in a wheelchair for a hearing on July 16. The court then went into recess, with the next hearing scheduled for October 11. According to the Mail, Gambaryan’s legal team has not been allowed to visit him since July 26, and he is now bedridden.

"Tigran's attorneys have requested that his case be heard during the recess," a spokesman said.

Binance, the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
