As Cointelegraph reported, Joe Doll, general counsel at NFT marketplace Magic Eden, said that newly appointed “Head of AI and Cryptocurrency” David Sacks only has two years to promote pro-crypto policies before the 2026 US midterm elections.

Doll noted that the government could be deadlocked and that the current administration must push pro-crypto policies while it still controls both houses of Congress. “The majority in the House is very slim and could flip,” he said. “We have 24 months to push important policies.”

Trump’s appointment of several pro-crypto figures to advisory and cabinet positions is seen as a positive development for the crypto community. David Sacks’ appointment was welcomed by crypto industry executives.

Trump also nominated Paul Atkins to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission and Stephen Miran to chair the Council of Economic Advisers, appointments that were hailed for their stances on deregulation and technological progress.

Arkansas Congressman French Hill said Republicans prioritize the digital asset market structure bill and plan to introduce a comprehensive cryptocurrency regulatory framework within the first 100 days of the legislative session.
