According to PANews, sensitive information of participants in cryptocurrency industry events has been illegally sold, becoming a treasure trove of data for scammers. This information includes full name, phone number, nationality, position, etc., which is usually collected when registering for an event.

Cointelegraph obtained four list samples through Telegram, each with approximately 60 to 100 participants. Most of the activities took place in the fall of 2024, and the participants came from Southeast Asia and India, indicating the existence of international blockchain activity data transactions.

The seller also shared samples related to Blockchain Fest and Devcon, including a list of 1,700 attendees of the November 2024 AIBC conference in Malta, which was sold at a price of $650 from $4,000. The seller is anonymous and suspected to be Russian. This information may facilitate social engineering scams and threaten the security of participants' cryptocurrency wallets.
