According to Wu Shuo, the U.S. securities regulator has sued a fraud gang, accusing them of impersonating U.S. securities brokers and investment advisory representatives and defrauding at least $2.9 million through fake websites and phone calls.

Since 2019, the gang has been pretending to be employees of well-known U.S. securities firms, promising a monthly return on investment of 15%-25%, and instructing investors to open accounts at securities brokers and cryptocurrency trading platforms and purchase crypto assets.

The defendants also lured investors into fake online investment platforms they created and displayed fictitious high returns on these platforms. The victims in this case were mainly US residents, with at least 28 people losing a total of $2.9 million.
