According to Blockworks, the U.S. stock market was flat on Tuesday as traders awaited key inflation data. The November Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be released on Wednesday, followed by the Producer Price Index (PPI) on Thursday.

Analysts expect the CPI to be 2.7% in November, the core CPI to be 3.3% and the monthly rate to be 0.3%. Housing costs will be the focus, as the housing index rose 0.4% month-on-month in October.

Last week's jobs report showed 227,000 new jobs were created in November, beating expectations for 202,000, but the unemployment rate rose to 4.2%.

The market expects the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates by 25 basis points next week, and future policy direction remains uncertain.
