According to TechFlow, New York Mayor Eric Adams expressed satisfaction with his cryptocurrency salary decision. With the price of Bitcoin rising to nearly $100,000 this year, he mentioned at a press conference that the decision, which was once ridiculed, now seems wise.
When Adams took office in January 2022, he converted his first three months' salary of about $30,000 into Bitcoin and Ethereum. By the end of 2023, his Bitcoin holdings were worth between $5,000 and $54,999.
In addition to Adams, Miami Mayor Suarez and Belgian Member of Parliament De Beukelaer have also chosen to receive their salaries in Bitcoin.
