According to ChainCatcher, Jorge Tenreiro, formerly the acting head of the SEC’s cryptocurrency and cybersecurity supervision division, has been appointed chief litigation counsel, expanding his responsibilities.

Tenreiro has played a key role in several landmark cases, including the lawsuit against Ripple Labs. The promotion bodes well for the SEC’s continued stringent enforcement of cryptocurrency regulations.

In his new role, Tenreiro is expected to continue to focus on areas such as ICOs, token sales, and market manipulation while promoting crypto innovation, further influencing legal standards for cryptocurrencies.
