Techub News reported that Grayscale and Bitwise are applying to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for approval of options products for their Ethereum spot ETFs. According to a document on the SEC website, the New York Stock Exchange, Grayscale and Bitwise jointly proposed to amend the rules to list and trade options for three products: Bitwise Ethereum ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Trust and Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, as well as any trust fund holding Ethereum.
The application document states that offering Ethereum ETP options will bring investors additional, relatively low-cost investment tools to gain exposure to spot Ethereum and serve as a hedging tool related to Ethereum products and positions. The comment period for the proposal is 21 days. In addition, several companies are also seeking to trade options on Bitcoin spot ETFs, but have not yet received approval from the SEC.
