According to TechFlow, Bitcoin mining and energy infrastructure company Hut 8 announced that Sean Glennan will serve as the company's new chief financial officer (CFO) starting August 21. The current CFO Shenif Visram will leave for family reasons, but will stay until Glennan takes over to ensure a smooth transition.

It is reported that Glennan previously served as managing director of the Global Power, Utilities and Renewable Energy Group of Citigroup's Global Markets Investment Banking Division. During his 13-year tenure, he was involved in more than US$80 billion in mergers and acquisitions and capital market activities.

Hut 8 CEO Asher Genoot said Glennan’s strategic, financial and capital markets knowledge and connections would be a great asset to the company’s future growth.

Meanwhile, Hut 8 released its mining update for July, with the company producing 105 bitcoins that month, bringing its total holdings to 9,102 BTC. As of July 31, the company managed a hash rate of 13.4 EH/s, a slight increase from the previous month.
