According to TechFlow, the lawyer of former FTX Digital Markets co-CEO Ryan Salame has filed a request with a New York court to postpone his jail time so that he can undergo emergency surgery. According to the lawyer, Salame was "severely bitten" by a German shepherd at a friend's house on June 29.
Salame was originally scheduled to begin serving his sentence on August 29, but his lawyer requested that the date be postponed to October 13. A doctor's letter showed that Salame was evaluated for a dog bite wound to the face on July 3.
Last September, Salame pleaded guilty to conspiracy to make illegal political contributions and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business and was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. He worked closely with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, who was sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison for fraud in March.
