PANews reported on December 11 that according to Live Bitcoin News, a White House spokesperson recently commented in an interview that when Bitcoin is more widely used, the number of ransomware surges because it is a way to transfer funds across borders. This is a borderless threat and we need to deal with it in a borderless way. The White House is working with approximately 36 countries to establish an "Anti-Ransomware Initiative." The organization will also work with up to 13 private companies to find ways to respond to the growing threat of ransomware.
